Humility is a really nice attribute; it’s the most useful one in connecting to our true self. It's through humility that we open ourselves up to insight, which helps reap benefit quickly in our self-study to become truly skilled and congruent and enhance our ability to be vulnerable.
Insight in life can be through extended experience, but often not. With humility, the insight can come to us beyond our preparations, learning a lot in a little time. By learning from others, their culminating experiences voiced in an an hour-long conversation, one can find themselves in a completely different personal place than just yesterday.
When a therapist and client embody humble curiosity, the office becomes a very interesting space. The therapeutic process becomes more than a conversation. It's where small miracles can happen. Technique and personal character virtues are used in tandem, and proper intention facilitates a greater emotional learning experience.
